What you need to know before you send your cleaning equipment in for service this Winter.
We’re getting snow, its cold outside, Winter is in full swing in the Upper Midwest. We all know to take care when driving out on the roads but when transporting your machine from location to location, do you know the precautionary steps you should be taking before loading it on the truck? In the cold weather there is a risk that your cleaning equipment can freeze during transport, resulting in damage to many parts, specifically solution and recovery systems, within the machine.
Taking a little time to protect your investment could avoid damage costs and reduce your cost of ownership significantly. Dalco, working with our equipment vendors, have put together some basic procedures to protect your equipment from the cold. Please follow these procedures when transporting your equipment from your facility to Dalco’s repair location this Winter. For more detailed directions you can always refer to your owner’s manual for freeze protection.
Why you should winterize your equipment before transport:
- Winterizing will protect your equipment investment from freezing during transport, avoiding a result of unnecessary damage.
- Freezing can cause extensive damage to the solution system and recovery system, adding additional cost to the needed repairs.
- Additional repairs needed will add time to your initial service, increasing downtime of your machine.
See our Winterizing Guide to help you through the winterizing process for most machines. If you have questions on winterizing please reach out to our repair team or contact us online.
